Book Sales
Due to the pandemic, please call the Front Desk about book donations. We must quarantine all donations and can only handle two boxes due to space. We are sorry but we cannot accept encyclopedias or VHS tapes.
The Friends of the Library gladly accept book, audiobook, DVD and magazine donations. Donations are sold to the public in the Front Hall. Last summer, due to the public's generosity, the Friends made $80.00! That's a lot of books considering each was sold for $0.25. Thank you to everyone who bought during the 2021 summer sale. Take advantage of our seasonal sales when some are priced 8 for $1.00!!
One happy book buyer was able to complete his James Herriot set. One found a rare Thomas Merton theology book. One found a recipe in a battered cook book that had a lost family favorite from long ago.
In late Spring (2022) the Friends accepted 16 boxes of books from a Pittsburgh neighborhood. The wonderful donors knew the nearest bookstore was 3 hours driving distance away from Storm Lake and were glad to share. The children books were especially welcomed by all shoppers. One Grandmother bought 24 board books.
